White truffles can be harvested in Molise. The region boasts an absolute record in the export of this delicacy, which can fetch as much as 160,000 euros per kg! Molise white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico) abounds in Molise thanks to the microclimate and the absence of pollution, but there are also other varieties in the region.

In Termoli, a seaside town in the province of Campobasso, the 42nd parallel North and the 15th meridian East meet near the marina. In 2013, Termoli dedicated to this intersection of imaginary lines an imposing monument called the “dream”, which is located exactly at the centre of the intersecting point and celebrates the geographical reference that sets the time throughout central Europe.

Full of historical monuments, this region has an extraordinary theatre-temple in Pietrabbondante (Isernia). The theatre, which can host up to 2,500 spectators, still boasts perfect acoustics; the Samnite temple was completed in 95 BC and its orientation is such that sunrise can be admired all year round.
