A few interesting facts about Trentino-Alto Adige

In 1991, a human body from 3,000 BC was found in the Val Senales (the approximate date is between 3,300 and 3,000 BC), the so-called “Man of Similaun”, also popularly known as “Ötzi”. Thanks to the ice, the mummy (and its meal, found next to the body) has been perfectly preserved and is now on display in Bolzano.

Valsugana is the first Italian area to be certified for sustainable tourism (GSTC - United Nations - 17 Sustainable Development Goals). Wonderful mountains, unspoiled landscapes, warm water in the lakes, which are some of the warmest in the Alps.

At the beginning of December, on the night between December 5 and 6, the Krampus appear in the streets. They are terrifying wooden masks with fur cloaks that punish naughty boys and girls while Santa Claus brings gifts to the good ones. The Krampus tradition has its roots in pre-Christian times and is now one of the most popular traditional attractions in the region.
